AI medical receptionist for clinics, labs and hospitals in India.
Pluxo answers patient calls and WhatsApp 24/7, in the patient's own language. It books appointments into real slots, sends reminders, and passes anything clinical to your staff with the full conversation.

What is an AI medical receptionist?
An AI medical receptionist, also called an AI healthcare receptionist, is software that answers a medical practice's phone and messages the way a trained front desk would. It greets the caller, answers routine questions about timings, fees and preparation from the practice's own facts, books or reschedules appointments, sends reminders, and transfers or flags anything clinical, urgent or unusual to a person. It does not diagnose or give medical advice.
Why a medical front desk misses calls.
- 01
One receptionist cannot answer three ringing lines while registering a patient at the counter.
- 02
Patients call before opening, at lunch, after closing and on Sundays, which is exactly when nobody is there.
- 03
India has many languages, and a caller who is not understood hangs up and calls someone else.
- 04
Most calls ask the same five things: timings, fees, location, availability and preparation.
- 05
Reminders depend on someone remembering, so no-shows quietly eat the day.
What an AI medical receptionist does.
Answers every call
It picks up immediately, says it is the practice's AI receptionist, and answers from your own facts: doctors, timings, fees, services and directions.
Books real appointments
Each doctor's hours and slot lengths are set up once. It only offers times that exist, and confirms the booking on WhatsApp.
Speaks the patient's language
English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Punjabi and Odia, switching mid-call when the caller does.
Reminders that cut no-shows
WhatsApp reminders 48 hours, 24 hours and 2 hours before. Patients reschedule by replying.
Hands clinical questions to staff
Symptoms, results and medicine questions go to your team on WhatsApp with the transcript. Emergencies are told to call 108 first.

- Pluxo
Hello, this is City Health's AI receptionist. This call may be recorded. How can I help?
- Caller
Is Dr. Mehta available tomorrow? I need a follow-up for my blood pressure.
- Pluxo
Dr. Mehta has 10:40 and 12:15 tomorrow. Which one suits you? I'll send it to your WhatsApp.
- Caller
10:40. Should I take my tablet before coming?
- Pluxo
The doctor will answer that. I've sent your question to the team, and you're booked for 10:40 with a reminder in the morning.
AI receptionist, a person, an IVR or an answering service.
A human receptionist knows your patients and handles anything, but works set hours, takes one call at a time and usually speaks two or three languages. Pluxo works beside them and takes the overflow, the nights and the WhatsApp.
An IVR plays a menu and waits for a key press. It cannot book an appointment or answer a question in the caller’s own words, which is why so many callers hang up at “press 1”. There is a fuller comparison in AI voice agent or IVR.
An answering service takes a message for someone to call back later. An AI medical receptionist finishes the booking on the call, so there is nothing to call back about.
Each kind of practice has its own page.
Clinics, from a single doctor to a multispecialty practice: AI receptionist for clinics, and pages by specialty.
Hospitals: AI receptionist for hospitals, which routes each caller to the right department and doctor.
Labs and diagnostic centres: AI receptionist for labs, for fasting, home collection and report questions.
Home healthcare and elder care: home healthcare and elder care.
11 languages, and it follows the caller.
The receptionist speaks English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi and Odia. It answers in the language the patient starts in and switches if they do, so a caller who opens in Hindi and drifts into Kannada is never asked to repeat themselves.
You choose which languages your clinic offers and which one it greets in. A clinic in Pune might greet in Marathi and offer Hindi and English. A clinic in Bengaluru might offer five.
Where it stops, on purpose.
A receptionist that oversteps is worse than one that misses a call. These are the lines Pluxo does not cross.
- It does not give medical advice, a diagnosis or a dose, even when a caller insists. It says the doctor will look at it properly and offers a slot.
- In an emergency it tells the caller to hang up and call their local emergency number, before anything else.
- It does not read out reports or approve prescription refills. It notes the request and your team follows up.
- It never offers a time that is not in a doctor’s real schedule, and never double-books.
- It does not pretend to be human. It says it is the clinic’s AI receptionist in its first sentence.
- It does not quote a price you have not given it. Anything it cannot answer goes to your team on WhatsApp, with the conversation attached.
What two weeks at one clinic looked like.
EQUA, a centre for obesity care in HSR Layout, Bengaluru, runs its front desk on Pluxo. In its first two weeks the receptionist answered more than 100 calls and booked more than 65 appointments into its doctors’ real slots.
Those are EQUA’s own numbers. We name a clinic only when it has agreed to be named, and quote only figures it produced.
